Nippy vs Carrd

Building a page, or bringing your files?

Carrd and Nippy sit on opposite sides of one question: do you want to build a page, or do you already have the files? Carrd is a one-page site builder — pick a template, arrange elements in the browser, publish to a .carrd.co address. Its free plan covers three one-page sites, its paid tiers are cheap (billed annually), and if a landing page or link-in-bio needs to be designed from scratch without code, Carrd is the better tool, full stop.

Nippy starts where files already exist: a website exported from any tool, a folder of photos, a PDF, a pile of hand-outs. Drag them in and they are hosted as-is — multi-page HTML sites included, which a one-page builder can’t represent — or turned into a gallery or a tidy download page automatically, at an address like yourname.nippy.site or a custom domain on paid plans. There is no template to fight and no editor to learn; text and HTML can be tweaked right in the browser, visitors can download files as a zip, and nothing expires.

The honest split: design a new page from nothing, choose Carrd; put existing work online — a real site, a gallery, documents — choose Nippy.

Which one?

An honest fork in the road.

Choose Nippy when…

  • You already have a website export, a folder of photos, or documents to share
  • The site has more than one page
  • You need a download page or a gallery, not a designed landing page
  • You’d rather pay monthly than annually

Choose Carrd when…

  • You’re designing a landing page or link-in-bio from a template, with no files to start from
  • You want several small one-page sites at the lowest yearly cost

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Is Nippy a website builder like Carrd?

No — Nippy is a host. There are no templates or drag-and-drop design elements; it takes files you already have (an exported site, photos, PDFs) and puts them online. If you need to design a page visually, Carrd is the right kind of tool.

Can Nippy host a site I built elsewhere?

Yes — that’s the core use. Export static files from any builder or write HTML by hand, drag the folder in, and it’s served exactly as built, multi-page sites included.

Which is cheaper?

Both have free plans. Carrd’s paid tiers are cheap but billed annually; Nippy offers monthly or yearly billing, and new accounts can try a paid plan free for 7 days. Pricing is on each site — compare against what you actually need (pages vs files).

Can I use my own domain on both?

Both support custom domains on paid tiers. On Nippy it’s one CNAME record at your registrar, with the HTTPS certificate issued automatically.

I have a Carrd site — why would I use Nippy too?

They pair well: a designed landing page on Carrd, with Nippy carrying the things a builder can’t — a client gallery, a folder of documents, or a full multi-page site export — each at its own link.
