Guides, answers and a few tricks to get the most out of Nippy.
Guides
- Publish from Claude with the MCP server Add Nippy as a connector on claude.ai — or run npx nippy-mcp for Claude Desktop, Code or Cursor — then ask Claude to publish and get a link that never expires.
- Deploy from the terminal or CI Publish a folder, file or zip to nippy.host with one command — npx @nippyhost/cli deploy. In-place updates keep URLs stable; CI deploys use NIPPY_TOKEN.
- Get your first site online Drop a folder on nippy.host, pick an address, and your site is live — websites, galleries or download pages. First publish confirms your email; no password.
- Share photos as an online gallery Drop a folder of photos and get a gallery: thumbnail grid, lightbox, full-resolution zip downloads. Update by dropping more photos — same link, no expiry.
- Connect a custom domain Connect a domain you own to your Nippy site: one CNAME record at your provider, automatic verification and HTTPS. Your nippy.site address keeps working.
- My custom domain is taking a while to go live Custom domain stuck on “Action needed” or “Almost live”? Why DNS and HTTPS can lag, what “Check now” does, and how to get a bare domain working.
- Password-protect a site Put a Nippy site behind a password: visitors see nothing until they enter it, and changing the password signs out everyone who used the old one.
- Understand site analytics Cookie-free site analytics: views, visitors, sources, countries and realtime — no consent banner needed, bots filtered out, switched on per site.
- Edit your site in the browser Edit HTML, CSS and text right in the dashboard, stage new files alongside, and publish everything in one click — same address, live in seconds.
- Share a Claude Artifact at your own link Share Claude Artifacts beyond claude.ai: paste the code into nippy.host as index.html, pick an address, and host each at its own link that never expires.
- Publish a page made with ChatGPT ChatGPT can write a whole web page but can’t host it. Paste the HTML into nippy.host, pick an address, and the page is live in about a minute — free.
- Open a Keynote file without a Mac Open a Keynote (.key) file without a Mac: the honest options, plus the simplest way to view and share it as a link that opens in any browser.
- Open a Pages file on Windows Open an Apple Pages file on Windows without converting it: the methods that work, and the simplest way to view and share it as a browser link.
- View Word and PowerPoint files in the browser View Word, PowerPoint and OpenDocument files in the browser without Office installed — and share them as a link that opens on any device.
- How the free trial works Try any Nippy paid plan free for 7 days. A card starts the trial, you are not charged until it ends, and you can cancel anytime before then.
Getting started
Drop a folder on the home page or choose "Add a site" in your dashboard — pick a subdomain and your site is live in seconds. HTML becomes a site, images become a gallery, anything else gets a tidy file listing.
Domains & DNS
Connect a domain you own from a site’s Settings tab: add one CNAME record at your provider and SSL is issued automatically. We re-check DNS for you until it verifies.
Analytics
Turn on privacy-first analytics per site to see views, visitors, sources, countries, and realtime activity — no cookies, no consent banner needed for your visitors.
Account & billing
Sign-in is by email link — no passwords. Manage your plan, usage, and payment details under Billing; protect any site with a password from its Settings tab.
Tips & tricks
Tip: to update a site, drop the new files on it
Drag a new version of your folder onto an existing site and publish — the whole site updates worldwide in seconds, on the same address.
Drag-and-drop updates
Drop new files anywhere on a site’s Files tab to stage changes, then publish them in one click.
Edit in the browser
Open any text file from the Files tab and edit it right in your dashboard — no re-upload needed.
Password-protect a site
Share drafts or private files safely: visitors are asked for a password before anything is shown.
See who’s on right now
The Analytics tab shows live visitor counts the moment someone lands on your site.
